Supreme Executive Pty Ltd (Patent Attorney Job Board) is committed to observing its obligations under the Privacy Act 1988. (Private Sector Amendment 2000 ). As part of our ongoing internal privacy compliance program, we have focussed on issues which are relevant to the handling of candidate information in the course of our relationship with our clients.

One such issue concerns the effectiveness of our clients to meet the requirements of the Privacy Act in handling personal information of candidates supplied by Supreme Executive.

Client by definition of this document means any organisation requesting personal information from Supreme Executive about any potential employee, including resumes and references.

Supreme Executive clients have an obligation relating to the way in which personal information is collected, handled and used within your organisation.

Supreme Executive will not send resumes or other personal information out to any organisation without the candidate's authorisation.

Supreme Executive clients must abide by the Privacy Act and respect candidates right to confidentiality. Therefore, any organisation requesting resumes or personal details from Supreme Executive must ensure to the best of their ability.

The resume or personal details of the candidate remain confidential.

    Any personal information on candidates are only to be distributed to those persons directly responsible in the recruitment and decision process for which the candidates personal information was submitted.

    Should the candidate not be successful in their application all hard copies and any electronic copies of their personal details are to be shredded or deleted permanently.

    Supreme Executive's client must have appropriate processes and measures in place to prevent:

          1.  Unauthorised or unlawful use or disclosure of; and

    2.  Accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, personal information supplied to you.

At Supreme Executive's request, assist Supreme Executive to discharge its obligations under NPP 1.5 (National Privacy Principle) by including notice at any time of collecting personal information; Only use or disclosure of personal information for the purpose it was intended: and seek consent to any use or disclosure of personal information which is outside the purpose.

By accepting candidates personal information from Supreme Executive, our clients accept and will abide by the above requirement and Privacy Act 1988. (Private Sector Amendment 2000 ).

We value your right to privacy. However, of equal importance to us is helping you to secure employment and informing you of new and suitable vacant positions as they arise. Registering your interest in new opportunities can be done by emailing your resume to us through our website, or direct to jobs@supreme.net.au or by phoning our Consultants.

Note: We only store electronic documents. We do not retain or store faxed or posted resumes or correspondence. Once an assignment has been completed for which the resume or correspondence was submitted, all hard copies are shredded. We do not store references once submitted to our clients. Reference checks are carried out only with the candidates conscent and they would normally be conducted just prior to or after the first interview.

In summary:

  1. We will only collect information that is necessary.
  2. We will be fair in the way we collect information about you.
  3. We will tell you what we intend to do with information we have collected.
  4. Where practicable, we will collect personal information directly from you.
  5. If we collect information about you from external sources, this information will be made available to you.
  6. We will use or disclose information about you in ways that are consistent with your expectations and our Privacy Statement.
  7. We will ensure, to the best of our ability, that the information about you is accurate when we collect or use it.
  8. We will keep information about you secure to the best of our ability.
  9. We will be open with you about the personal information we hold and what we do with it.
  10. Wherever possible, we will let you see the information we hold about you and correct it if it is wrong.
  11. We will gain your permission before we send personal information about you to a third party.
  12. We endeavour to protect your privacy if we send personal information about you to a third party.
